Construction of issues into a provisional questionnaire:
- The items are worded to be compatible with the EORTC QLQ-C30 response categories
- Review by professionals and 3 -5 patients
- Comparison with existing modules and existing translations. Done with the aid of the Item Bank.

Phase 3 Completed
Modules: Superficial Bladder, Muscle Invasive Bladder, High Dose Chemotherapy, Ophthalmic cancer, Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia, Radiation proctitis, Endometrial cancer, Pancreatic cancer, Information Module, Chemo-Induced Peripheral Neuropathy, Carcinoid / Neuroendocrine tumours, Hepatocellular Carcinoma, Bone metastases, Fatigue, Cancer in elderly patients, Breast reconstruction module, Spiritual Wellbeing.
Ongoing modules:
Pretesting of the provisional module for acceptability and relevance:
- A sample of patients complete the module and are interviewed
- Results are analysed according to response prevalence and variance
- The report is approved by the Module Development Committee
- The questionnaire is modified according to the results of the pretesting until a good format with a reasonable number of questions is achieved.
Validated Modules
Modules: Breast, Lung, Head and Neck, Oesophageal, Ovarian, Gastric, Multiple Myeloma, Cervical cancer, Oesophago-gastric, Prostate, Colorectal Liver Metastases Module, Colorectal, Brain.
Validated Modules:
After having successfully completed Phase IV field testing, the modules are considered as validated.
